| The Mobile District has and maintains numerous pieces of major floating
equipment, commonly called plant, to perform various missions throughout the district's many projects. The
district's floating plant supports navigation,
which includes snagging and debris removal from channels, buoy placement,
pile driving and dredging; support for locks by setting stoplogs that
prevent water from leaking into a lock and allows
lock repair work; patrol, search and rescue to safeguard the public
at the district's projects; and it provides support in
the maintaining of the district's many projects. Below are links to the Mobile District's major pieces of floating plant.
