What is interpretation?

Interpretation is defined as the act or process of explaining something. An interpreter explains something (such as water safety or why leaves change color in the fall) to a class or project  visitors. Interpretation is, in a sense, education.

What does an interpreter do?

A Park Ranger's job is to educate the public about the project he or she works at while providing an enjoyable and exciting learning environment. At Allatoona Lake, the interpreter is in charge of many public safety and education events. The interpreter also has the responsibility of communicating to and educating other Corps of Engineers projects as well as other rangers.

What programs does the interpreter run?

At Allatoona Lake we provide many opportunities for the public to get involved in the project. Below are some links to these programs.
