Allatoona Off-Road
Policy
|

| |
|
-
All-terrain vehicles and dirt bikes are a lot of
fun. While web sites on the world wide web may direct people
to Allatoona Lake to operate their ATV's on Corps of
Engineers property, it is illegal to operate these
motorized vehicles (ATVs, dirt bikes, trucks, cars,
etc) off authorized roadways on U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers property (Section 327.2c, Title 36, Code
of Federal Regulations).
-
It is illegal to take a vehicle (ATVs, dirt
bikes, trucks, cars, etc)
around, through, or beyond a restrictive sign,
barricade, fence, or traffic control barrier
(Section 327.2c, Title 36, Code of Federal
Regulations).
-
There are no areas authorized for off-road vehicle
operation at Allatoona Lake.
-
Mountain bikes have become
increasingly popular, but do not mix well with
pedestrians on hiking trails. An authorized mountain
bike trail area has been constructed by the
Southern Off Road Bike
Association
(SORBA) at Allatoona
Lake.

Office at 678-721-6700 for information.
