to this test chamber will allow very sensitive testing of
military machinery including the Stealth Bomber under a
multitude of extreme conditions.
At
Fort Rucker, the Soldier Service Center meets the needs of
soldiers for finance and accounting, banking, housing
services, mail distribution, the civilian personnel office,
health clinic and the Staff Judge Advocate.
The
one million square foot, nine building Sparkman Center
Complex was recently completed at Redstone Arsenal. The
center provides space for 4,200 personnel and includes state
of the art facilities.
In
addition to these projects, the District does many others.
We recently developed and installed a safety system for
Ranger Training at Eglin Air Force Base and are completing
an environmental clean-up at the former Alabama Army
Ammunition Plant.
In
Central and South America, we have been the Southern
Command's construction agent since 1985. Our work in Central
and South America includes such things as: Design and
construction for the Department of Defense, expertise in
planning, programming and environmental issues, emergency
management and disaster assistance, real estate acquisition
and technical assistance.
We
provide design and review in support of military exercises
with our allies in the region and in humanitarian efforts
including procurement and construction capabilities. We also
provide technical assistance and handle real estate issues
for both of these missions.
In
addition, we support several other U.S. agencies in the
region. One of our most important missions is supporting the
U.S. drug interdiction efforts and the U.S. Ambassadors in
nation assistance.
