The U.S. Army Corps Engineers Mobile District constructed Building 4221, a 5-story facility that will serve as the Program Office Administration Building for NASA at the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Surveying efforts from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District quickly restored navigation channels in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018. This included the Port of Pensacola, Fla. and nearly 300 miles of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District has released the latest Quarterly Newsletter for the ongoing study to determine the feasibility of increasing the depth and width of Mobile Harbor.

Mission

The Public Affairs Office is the initial contact for the public and the media for information about the Mobile District and its programs, policies, operations and activities. The Public Affairs Office manages the district's public information, command information, and community relations programs. Public Affairs specialists serve in direct support of the district's outreach programs, each responsible for specific geographic and functional areas. Public Affairs staff members prepare information products for both internal and external audiences. The Public Affairs Office supports the district in a wide variety of other activities including the management of the district's web and digital media presence.

Proposed Placement Area Addition, St. George Island Channel Navigation Project, Franklin County, Florida

Interested persons are hereby notified that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District proposes to provide an additional placement area at the project site of the St. George Island Channel to minimize shoaling to facilitate navigation into and out of Apalachicola Bay, Florida.

CONTINUED MAINTENANCE DREDGING OF CADET BAYOU NAVIGATION PROJECT HANCOCK COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI

Interested persons are hereby notified that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District proposes to continue maintenance dredging of the federally authorized Cadet Bayou navigation project, Hancock County, Mississippi. This public notice is issued in accordance with the rules and regulations published in the Federal Register on 26 April 1988. These regulations provide for the review of the dredging programs for federally authorized projects. These laws are applicable whenever dredged or fill material may enter navigable waters. The recipient of this notice is requested specifically to review the proposed action as it may have impact on water quality, relative to the requirements of Section 404(b)(1) of the Clean Water Act. Comments on any other potential impacts are also requested. WATERWAY AND LOCATION: Cadet Bayou, Mississippi Sound, Hancock County, Mississippi (Figure 1).
