    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Mobile District has been an integral part of the history of the Gulf Coast and Southeastern United States, contributing to both the economic and military development of an important strategic region of the country. The Public is invited to celebrate with Mobile District for its 200th Anniversary Celebration Ball on Friday, August 21, at 6 P.M. at the Mobile Convention Center, 1 S. Water Street, Mobile AL.
  • Corps of Engineers releases the Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Master Water Control Manuals for the Alabama-Coosa-Tallapoosa River Basin

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District announced today that it has released the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the proposed update of the Master Water Control Manual (Master Manual) for the Alabama-Coosa-Tallapoosa River Basin (ACT) in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.
  • Ringer Park Temporary Closured for Upgrades

    MOBILE, Ala.--The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District at West Point Project announced that Ringer Park will be temporarily closed, on a periodic basis from mid September through October, so Anderson Construction Company can perform facility improvements. These intermittent closures are necessary while improvements are being made in the park.
  • Jim Woodruff Lock Closed for Repairs

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District announced today the Jim Woodruff Lock located on the Apalachicola River in Chattahoochee, Florida will be closed to all vessels as unscheduled repairs are underway at the lock. Mechanical problems caused the lock gates to become inoperable so repairs were begin immediately on April 6. The lock is expected to remain closed through mid-May 2014 and a public announcement will be made near the re-opening date.
  • West Point Dam Traffic Restricted

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District at West Point Project, announced that vehicular and pedestrian traffic across the dam road will be closed Thursday, April 17, 2014, to ensure public safety as contractors use large equipment to conduct an inspection of the West Point Dam.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Announces West Bank Park Temporarily Closed at Lake Sidney Lanier

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District announced today that West Bank Park at Lake Sidney Lanier will be closed for approximately four weeks from January 1 through January 26, 2014. The park will be closed to allow waterfowl hunting, in accordance with the federal and state late season regulations
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Announces it will begin to drawdown West Point Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District announced today that residents living around West Point Lake and recreational users need to be aware of upcoming lake levels. Levels have been slowly dropping and will continue to go downward towards winter pool at 628.
