Allatoona Lake to host “Get Kids to the Park Day” at Galt’s Ferry

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, is scheduled to host a Get Kids to the Park / Safe Kids Day at the Galt’s Ferry Day-Use Area at Allatoona Lake in Acworth, Ga., May 20. The event, which is cosponsored by the Safe Kids Cherokee County and the National Park Trust, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free for everyone attending the event, however boat launchers will still be charged a daily-use fee. Allatoona Lake now accepting hunting permit applications

Mr. Douglas W. Lamont, Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, has signed the Record of Decision (ROD) for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint (ACF) River Basin Master Water Control Manual Update and Water Supply Storage Assessment, and the South Atlantic Division Commander has approved and implemented updated Water Control Manuals for the ACF Basin in accordance with the ROD.
