Biography

Jeffery Burgess

Mr. Jeffery Burgess serves as U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Chief, Contracting Division for the Mobile District, and Directorate of Contracting in Mobile, Alabama.

Mr. Burgess has served as the Chief, Facilities Support Branch Contracting at the Engineering and Support Center Huntsville from August 2010 through January 2013.  He and his staff have supported multiple programs including Facilities Repair and Renewal Program (construction and renovations), Access Control Points/Automated Installation Entry Program, Facilities Reduction Program (demolitions and hazardous materials abatement and disposal), and multiple special projects.

Prior to coming to USACE, Mr. Burgess was a member of year group 2009 of the Competitive Development Group/Army Acquisition Fellowship Program (CDG/AAF) of the U.S. Army Acquisition Support Center.  During his time with the CDG/AAF, Mr. Burgess served as an Assistant Product Manager for the Engagement Operations Center at the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Project Office in Huntsville.

From 2003 to 2009, He served in various contracting positions at the Aviation and Missile Command Acquisition Center (now Army Contracting Command – Redstone) at Redstone Arsenal.  He also served as a contract specialist and Contracting Officer in support of multiple systems and customers procuring all manner of systems, services, and end items.

Mr. Burgess graduated from Athens State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management of Technology.  He also holds a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Acquisitions and Contract Management from Florida Institute of Technology. He is a graduate of the CDG/AAF program year group 2009, one of only ten participants selected Army-wide that year. 

He is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps and holds Level III Certification in Contracting, Level III Certification in Program Management, Level II Certification in Facilities Engineering, and a Level I Certification in Life Cycle Logistics.
